Maui's dramatically diverse terrain and easy access to neighbor islands makes it a prime spot for a helicopter tour.  See the deep, velvet green canyons of the West Maui mountains, including magnificent waterfalls.  Jump across the channel to Molokai for its awesome sea cliffs, the world's tallest, or fly the meandering rural 'aina (land) of Upcountry on your way to Haleakala crater, the top of the world's largest dormant volcano.

Around the backside of Maui, the Hana coastline is breathtaking as it winds through lush rainforests with roaring waterfalls to the contrastingly barren volcanic desert near the Kaupo gap.  Maui is also the perfect starting place for a fixed-wing tour of the volcanic activity on the Big Island of Hawaii, so whatever you're looking for, Maui's got it from the air!

sea lifeAmazing Sea Life
Maui has long been known to have some of the best water activities not only in Hawaii, but in the entire world.  The strikingly cobalt blue waters between the islands of Maui, Molokai, Kahoolawe and Lanai are home to many of the most amazing species of tropical sea life, including fish, turtles, and dolphins, and enjoying a snorkeling or scuba trip while you are here is highly recommended.  During the wintertime Maui is even home to the majestic humpback whales which frolic near the shore from December through May, so whale watching is a must. There are also many great options when it comes to dinner cruises and sunset sailing.  Make sure to spend a romantic night on the water with your sweetheart.

surferExhilarating Water Sports
Along with parasailing, sport fishing is practically a religion in Lahaina.  Whether you want to charter the whole boat or just one slot, go out and catch the big one!  Magnificent game fish like mahi mahi, ahi, ono, and of course marlin are running all year round, so there are few places in the world better for fishing.

Whether you are looking for a fishing trip or a snorkeling tour, just remember any water activity you choose will be an unforgettable highlight or your trip to Hawaii.

The island of Maui is the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands at 727 square miles (1883 km²). Maui is part of the State of Hawaii and is the largest island in Maui County. Three other islands, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Molokai belong to Maui County. As of 2006, Maui has a resident population of 139,884, which is ranked third within the state behind the islands of Oahu and Hawaii.

Hawaiian tradition gives the origin of the island's name in the legend of Hawaii, the Polynesian navigator attributed with discovery of the Hawaiian Islands. The story relates how he named the island of Maui after his son who in turn was named for the demi-god Maui. According to legend, the demi-god Maui raised all the Hawaiian Islands from the sea. The Island of Maui is also called the "Valley Isle" for the large fertile isthmus between its two volcanoes.
