Watership Down is a novel by Richard Adams. It was published in 1972 by Rex Collings Ltd. This amazing book is based on a group of rabbits who are just as intelligent as humans. They are depicted as having a culture, including a language (Lapine), proverbs, poetry and mythology. Several chapters present pieces of rabbit lore and many editions also include an appendix of Lapine vocabulary.
